Halo Wars’ believeable story is presented through some great cutscenes, with high-quality cinematics and decent voice acting. Combined with authentic-looking units and environments, it goes a long way toward making Halo Wars look and feel like part of the series. The storyline is slightly confusing at first but eventually pieces together to make a satisfying ending, though it’s certainly not long and should take most players around five hours to play through. Your adventure gets underway on a colonised world called Harvest, where the UNSC battleship Spirit of Fire’s away-team leader Sgt. John Forge is investigating Covenant activity. Along with scientist Professor Anders and the Fire’s holographic AI construct Serina, they uncover a plot in which an Arbiter, in charge of the Covenant forces on the planet, gets his hands on a mysterious superweapon left by the long-extinct Forerunners.

Halo Wars’ gameplay and control scheme are introduced through two simple tutorials, and though a few more lessons would’ve helped to flesh out all of the unit types, it’s not difficult to figure out the roles of the different UNSC and Covenant forces. The controls function adequately, but you’re quite limited as to what you can actually do with them. For example, you can select all units, all units onscreen, all units of a specific type, or all units within a small radius, but you can’t assign units to custom groups. This makes it difficult to manage units when you’re trying to fight a battle on two fronts. Combat is streamlined to just two buttons, so you can easily point out the enemy you want vanquished, send your soldiers after them, and use special attacks where applicable.

God of War III takes place right after the events of God of War II, with Kratos upon Gaia’s back eager to exact vengeance on the gods and make them “suffer”. As seen in the trailers, the whereabouts of the Blade of Olympus is unknown, even though Kratos had been wielding the blade at the ending of God of War II. Little information has been released on the battle between the Gods and Titans that will explain the end of Greek Mythology.A more recent screen shot shows Helios on his knees with a bloodied face, Kratos is also in the picture grasping the god’s head, about to tear it off with his bare hands. A game demo released at E3 2009 shows Kratos, with assistance from Perses, bringing down Helios and his chariot and then ripping off the god’s head. Helios’ head is also shown to be a weapon that can be used to reveal secrets and to illuminate dark areas or blind enemies. Later on, Kratos uses his Wings of Icarus to be lifted from an updraft in the cave he was exploring.Seen in a gameplay trailer are iron or bronze boots with wings on them that greatly augment Kratos’ acrobatic abilities. The wings and nature of the boots suggest that Kratos, at some point in the game, battles and kills Hermes, before taking his boots. It has also been said that Kratos is looking for a “back door” for his attack on Mount Olympus.

Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 is a team-based multiplayer shooter set, as the name suggests, on the brutal eastern front of World War II, where the Russians and Germans fought a brutal war of attrition. While that setup probably sounds pretty familiar to those of us who’ve played games such as Battlefield 1942 or even Call of Duty, Red Orchestra manages to differentiate itself. The game offers a hardcore gameplay design that weeds out the arcade-shooter crowd with a meticulous attention to realism, albeit sometimes just for the sake of it.

Red Orchestra puts you on the eastern front of World War II, where the Germans and Russians fought many desperate and bloody battles.

The story begins with the player character Vito returning home on leave from World War II. Vito had joined the U.S. military as a way of avoiding jail time for a botched robbery. Vito reunites with his old friend, Joe Barbaro, and the two quickly embark upon a life of crime. Their criminal ascension starts with Mikey, a car mechanic who gets in a conflict with Joe. Mikey also needs a certain type of car to chop for parts, and will pay $400 for one that the police are not tailing. Soon enough, Vito, Joe, and Henry Tomasino (already a made man) find themselves battling with, for, against, and around three crime factions: the Falconi, Vinci and Clemente families. You will later on be introduced to Eddie Scarpa (a capo in one of the three crime families).

The storyline of Soul Blade is essentially an excuse for various showdowns over myriad backgrounds. Set in the 16th century, the title features warriors from various clans who are on a quest for the “Soul Edge,” a magical sword some believe holds ultimate combat power. The warriors include those looking to use it for good…and evil. The characters include Taki, a female hunter you wouldn’t want to tangle with; Cervantes, a wicked looking pirate (you gotta love a fighting game with a pirate); Sophita, an emotional goddess (Namco’s description – but how does one become an emotional goddess?); Voldo, hell guadian (we’ll just leave it at that); Rock (the token slow-moving, “no one uses him” character); and others. The game also features hidden fighters, multiple endings and numerous costumes for each character, and other hidden surprises that flesh out the game.

Our first look at Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for the PS3. It is a more polished version of Ninja Gaiden 2 (like Ninja Gaiden’s Black and Sigma). In this game you can play as Ryu (as usual), Ayane (Returning from Sigma 1, also in DOA), and Momigi, who is from Ninja Gaiden on the DS. Definetly looks awesome, like most things Team Ninja dishs out. This is something i will definetly be following.

Thirteen years ago, Capcom helped revolutionize the action-adventure world with Resident Evil, a game that would define an entirely new genre dubbed “survival horror.” 

Ten years after the destruction of Raccoon City, former S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team member Chris Redfield is an agent of the B.S.A.A. This paramilitary anti-bio-organic weapon organization travels the globe to seek out and destroy Umbrella’s creations, which have fallen into the hands of terrorists following the collapse of the multinational pharmaceutical company. When Chris gets a tip that a known weapons dealer will be making a big deal in the remote African nation of Kijuju, he heads there to put a stop to it and learn what he can about the mysterious doomsday project known only as Uroboros. Chris is joined by Sheva Alomar, a local B.S.A.A. agent, and together they battle wave after wave of infected villagers, horribly mutated monsters, and even series archnemesis Albert Wesker.
